Vocalist Vanessa Trouble is coming to Winona on Friday, August 23 for a summer evening concert at Briggs Outdoors. Accompanied by a local trio, she’ll sing a mix of styles including swing, Latin jazz, early Motown, blues, and modern-retro pop. Check out samples of her style on the Youtube videos below.
Tickets: $25 in advance at Eventbrite.com; $30 at the gate; teens, $10; kids 12 and under free.
Food: Wood-fired pizza buffet is free; The Oaks Wine Bar will also provide a cash bar featuring adult beverages and desserts.

About Vanessa Trouble
Trouble (née Gernes), a Winona native, launched her singing career in Los Angeles in the early 1990s and since then has performed at top venues across North America, Europe, and Asia. She’s a regular at New York City mainstays such as Birdland, Dizzy’s Club, The Carlyle, Mezzrow, Swing 46, and The Rainbow Room. When she’s not touring, she performs year-round in the Hamptons, including regular performances at Pierre’s Bridgehampton and Wolffer Estate Vineyard. In addition to working with regular trios and duos, she produces concerts and events with her 5-piece band, The Red Hot Swing. She currently resides on her houseboat, River Girl, in Riverhead, NY.

Steve will begin serving the wood-fired pizza buffet around 5:30, with the concert beginning around 6 pm, followed by a social hour at 9 pm.

Plan on camping overnight? The camping fee is $10.
