I had a great time at the Briggs’ farm hunting turkeys this last spring. The Briggs’ farm is a beautiful hunting destination with large wooded hills, pastures, and a creek running through the property. The farm has game everywhere, and in addition to turkeys, we saw small game, deer, and even a coyote.

Steve knew where the birds would likely be before we started hunting, and he had multiple hunting locations for me to choose from. On the night before the hunt, he explained some of the pros and cons of various spots.

On our morning hunt, Steve proved to be a knowledgeable and skilled guide. He had several Toms from several different hills answering his hen calls. Eventually, a large Tom strutted down a hill towards us in answer to Steve’s calls. The bird fanned it’s tail, shimmied, and gobbled every few steps, and trotted up within about 20 yards. The hunt was a success!

In addition to the successful hunt, Steve is always a thoughtful host who makes sure his guest is comfortable and well fed . I will definitely come back next year.
